About Breath Spectrum
Breath Spectrum is a breath-focused way of life that enables the human Mind+Body to breathe in full spectrum color with balance and grace.
Breath Spectrum teaches task meditation and walking meditation. Breath Spectrum teaches Emotional Release and Trauma Release exercises.
Unlike Kundalini yogic breathing, which relies on brief periods of forceful over-breathing, Breath Spectrum relies on long periods of low-key yogic breathing that can be utilized in everyday life — at your desk, in the car sitting in traffic, at the grocery store, washing dishes, or even while playing video games.
Breath Spectrum builds upon the landmark work of Ian Jackson’s BreathPlay™ - a systematic approach to exploring breathing as a basic living skill.
Ian’s son Josh recently digitized the original BreathPlay™ recordings that concentrate on walking and cycling, gifting breath seekers with meditation recordings that were scarcely available via physical copies only.
Josh has spent over 25 years developing his own breathing methods that build upon the pillars of his father’s original insights.
Given his background as an avid hiker and naturalist, Josh found Ian’s SwitchSide™ breathing techniques to be wholly conducive to further immersing one’s self into a trance state while out on the hiking trail. He honed this skillset even further with his time spent at The Sanctuary Sedona and their team of shamanic practitioners.
At The Sanctuary, Josh became a daily practitioner of HeartMath®, a heart-focused breathing methodology that reduces anxiety and improves sleep.
Josh lives with his wife and two children in Ft. Worth, Texas. As a father, Josh uses conscious breathing to keep calm when the kids are fighting over the iPad!
